National Bible Month 2025: A Four-Week Bible Reading Challenge

The Philippines is said to be a “Christian country.” Granting without admission that this is true, Filipinos then must be Bible readers. Needless to say, the Holy Bible is the supreme book of all ages. That is especially true for Christians and must be true for many Filipinos.

Celebrating National Bible Month is a great way for every Filipino to start the year 2025. In line with this significant event, I’m more than glad to invite everyone to join my Four-Week Bible Reading Challenge to reinforce the celebration. This 20-day journey is an initiative to encourage reading the Holy Scripture regularly, deepen faith, inspire reflection, and foster a greater love for the Word of God.

The Structure of the Challenge

From Monday to Friday over the course of four weeks, The Millennial Writer, together with his online audience, will read 3 to 5 chapters of the Bible each day. This weekday commitment allows participants to dive into Scripture without feeling overwhelmed, creating a manageable yet impactful routine. Here’s how the challenge unfolds:

Weekly Topics for Reflection

Each week will focus on a specific theme to guide participants in their spiritual journey. Before the daily Bible reading, JP Abecilla (a theologian and a Bible teacher) will share a brief reflection or discussion on the following topics:

Week 1: The Bible Understanding the significance of the Bible as God’s Word and its relevance in modern life. Topics will include its divine inspiration, historical impact, and practical application.
Week 2: God Exploring the nature of God, His love, sovereignty, and relationship with humanity. Reflections will help participants grasp the magnitude of God’s presence in their lives.
Week 3: Being a Human Delving into the human condition from a biblical perspective, addressing themes like purpose, sin, redemption, and spiritual growth.
Week 4: Jesus Christ Focusing on the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, participants will reflect on His role as Savior and the transformative power of His teachings.

Live Bible Reading Sessions

The Bible reading sessions will take place every weekday at 8:00 a.m. on JP Abecilla’s YouTube Channel. During the first week, these sessions will be streamed on his Facebook and Twitter accounts as well. JP will read 3 to 5 chapters alongside his viewers and subscribers, building a sense of community and shared faith.

Bible Trivia: A Fun Ending to Each Session

After the daily readings, JP will share interesting Bible trivia to keep the sessions engaging and educational. These nuggets of knowledge aim to deepen participants’ understanding of Scripture while sparking curiosity and discussion.
